Send a Message in a Bottle
The concept of a message in a bottle has been around for centuries, bringing with it both mystery and romance for the people sending and receiving them. Imaging how wonderful it must be to find a bottle on the shore with a message inside, wondering who it was from and what they wanted, how long had it been bobbing around in the waves and what should you do with it next?
You and your Valentine could be the one sending the message in the bottle this Valentines Day.
Find a nice cork topped bottle and remove any labels from it so that people can see inside the bottle and see your letter or message. Wash the bottle out and leave it too completely dry.
Then write your message; this could be a simple message explaining who you are and that you sent the message as a romantic gesture for Valentines Day. You could also include an email address so that they can contact you to say where and when they found the bottle.
Remember to add the date and the place where you launched the bottle, as these are the things that the finder will be wondering about.
You could also add a few treats for the finder - a small packet of sweets maybe.
Use a new cork to seal the bottle to make sure that it is airtight. There will be instructions on the back of the cork box explaining how to cork the bottle. With traditional corks you need to soak them in water before pushing them into the bottle. Of course this isn't necessary with plastic corks.
When your Message in a Bottle is ready you can take it to the seaside and release the bottle into the sea and enjoy a nice romantic bag of fish and chips at the seaside for tea.
