Cupids Arrow Pen and Heart Penholder
Difficulty Rating -

Add some cheesy romance to your desk with this cute pen and penholder, which looks like Cupid's arrow (the pen), has shot a heart (the penholder). This Valentines craft is quick and easy to make and is great fun to use on the week before Valentines Day.
To Make the Cupids Arrow Pen and Heart Penholder you will need...
A pen - a Biro type pen is great for the arrow.
A sheet of both black and red craft foam
Clear drying PVA glue.
To start off with you need to draw around a cup onto the red foam, just away from the edge of the foam. Then mark the centre of the circle and draw a quarter from the circle, this part will be cut away.
Around the remaining three-quarters, draw 3 evenly spaced tabs coming off the circle. These will be used to stick it to the heart later. Cut this shape out, and curl it around into a cone shape and glue. Pegs make great clamps to hold things whilst the glue dries. Leave to one side to dry.
Next take the pen and discard the lid. With the black foam cut out a suitable sized arrowhead, and cut it in half. Stick the arrowhead to the pin on either side, near the nib of the pen. In a similar way cut out arrow feathers and glue them to the pen on either side at the opposite end of the pen. Leave to dry.
When the cone shape is dry you can continue with the penholder. Cut out a heart shape from the red foam that is considerably bigger then the bottom of the cone. Remove the peg from the cone and place the cone in the middle of the heart. When you are happy with the positioning, draw a line where the tabs on the cone touch the heart. Make cuts along these lines so that the tabs can be pushed through the heart. Glue the tabs into place and when dry snip of the surplus foam tab so that the heart will sit flat on the table.
The top of the cone also needs a cutting off so that there is a small hole for the pen to go. Additional slits can be added to the hole so that the holder also holds the arrowhead.
And there you have a finished Cupids Arrow Pen and Heart Penholder to enjoy.
