Home Made Heart Pin For Valentine'sBy: Tiffany Provost
To start, put everything together that is required: Small heart shape made of wood (you will find these at Hobbycraft and other Good Craft shops)
Apply paint to the heart. The very first thing to be done to the pin is give it a good base color. Try a high-quality coat of red or cherry paint. For a bolder color, apply two coats. Add embellishments to it. You can make your heart personal with unique decorations but make sure the paint has dried off first. Now is your chance to be creative! Use your creativity to embellish it with any decorations you desire including sequins, letters or sparkles. You may desire to create a heart that resembles a face when you put on googly eyes and glue some wool on as hair. A suggestion is to surround the heart with some lace on the back so you get a feminine look. Create a kooky heart pin by the addition of eyes and arms and legs made out of pipe cleaners. Or you could write your darling a little note on it. For example, "I love you" or "Be my sweetheart". If you have use a lot of tiny decorations on your pin, consider apply a coat of clear shellac to the heart to help everything stick and stay firmly in place. Make certain you allow enough time for your newly-created heart pin to dry. While it is drying avoid handling it too much since you can easily leave fingerprints in the paint or even dislodge the decorations. Attach the back of the pin. The final thing to do with your new craft creation is to adorn and wear it. Put a dab of crazy glue or hot glue on the back of the pin. {This should be swiftly pushed into the rear side of it. Hold the pin in place and don't move it so that the glue has time to adhere. Now your heart pin is done and ready to be given as a token of love!
