To finish the heart
Fold the heart in half with right sides facing, and so that the cast on and cast off edges are together. Sew up one side of the heart and then sew half way up the other side. Turn the heart right sides out and lightly stuff, then sew up the opening. Finally anchor a length of wool to the to middle of the heart, and push the needle down through the middle of the hearts and pull tightly to make the two 'humps' of the heart. Sew a couple of stitches over the top of each other on the point of the heart to fix the heart shaping.
To suspend from ribbon, thread the needle with very thin ribbon and tread through the top of the heart.
